Air traffic controllers issue notice of strike

Passengers at Irish airports are facing severe flight disruption before the end of the month after air traffic controllers announced a series of one-day stoppages.
The IMPACT trade union yesterday issued the Irish Aviation Authority with notice of industrial action.
However, the union has said it is fully committed to reaching a solution at talks next week.
The air traffic controllers say they are being forced to work overtime because of a lack of staff and have served official notice of temporary work stoppages from February 26.
Both sides will meet for talks next Tuesday at the Labour Relations Commission (LRC).
The Irish Aviation Authority said it was "disappointed" to have been served notice of industrial action while the LRC intervention was still under way.
